Basic Rules of the Forum
Respect your fellow members and do not harass. Opinions will differ - any hateful/rude/uncalled for comments will be deleted and the poster will be warned.
When disagreeing or voicing an opinion that can be perceived as negative, please be sure to use terminology that clearly indicates it's an opinion. Adding things such as, "I think" or "I believe" can go a long way in creating a friendly environment here and eliminate arguments.
Post Content, Images, and Videos
The Warning System
First Offense: Warning
Second Offense: Suspension
Third Offense: Ban from forum
The above 'three strikes' rule is just a general guideline. We reserve the right to to also go on a case-by-case basis to analyze the situation and then take appropriate action.
Thank you for reading! By following the rules, you are helping to make the Out of Harm's Way forum an enjoyable and safe community.

- Listen to the Admins and Moderators. Remember that Admins and Moderators reserve the right to edit/delete any post/thread as they see fit. If you have had a post deleted and remain uninformed, please send a private message to the moderator of that particular board. Please do not post about these questions; such posts will be deleted, and repeat offenders may be warned.
Use the Search feature before posting. If a thread already exists for the topic you wish to post about, please use existing thread. Threads on the same or very similar topics will be merged. - Please use proper spelling and grammar, to the best of your ability. We understand that mistakes happen, but repeated shortenings (such as yu or u for you) or typing in all capitals (LIKE THIS) will not be tolerated and you will be warned. The same goes for text speak (lol, brb, imo, afaik, etc.). This is a serious forum, we expect our members to take the forum and themselves seriously. Taking 1 or 2 minutes to fully type out words and check over your post for spelling is a great habit to get in to.
- No cross-posting (posting the same topic/reply in multiple boards).
- Please post new threads in the correct board on the forum. Each board has a description of the content discussed under each board title.
- Before posting, ask yourself: "Would this contribute to the conversation?" Things such as, 'I agree,' would not. If you want to reply to a topic, please think it through and post something worth reading. No one wants to go through a post of 2 word replies.
Post Content, Images, and Videos
- Nudity, depictions of lewd situations or extreme violence, vulgarity, or other inappropriate language will not be tolerated. This is a serious, mature forum and we expect our members to act like adults.
- Do not try to sneak inappropriate words in by editing them (such as using symbols). These words are edited out for a reason. Please respect that.
- Do not bump threads. If you truly feel as though your thread has gone unnoticed, delete it then repost. However, if your thread has simply run it's course, then please just leave it at that. If anyone has anything more to contribute, then it will be brought up again.
Note - Bumping means bringing it back just because you want to. Posting a reply with just a smiley face or 'Bump!' is bumping and will not be tolerated. However, if a member is searching for a certain topic and has something to add to the discussion, feel free to bring it back. - Do not make back to back posts. Use the edit button to add your comments to your last post. Back to back posts will be merged and the member will be warned.
- You may only post up to four images in a single post. Please remember, some of us do not have lightning fast internet connections. Please mark image-heavy posts as such.
- If you have more than 5 images, please use URL links (http://www.mypicture.com/image1.png) instead of posting the actual pictures.
- This rule is referring to the Hunting forum especially. If somebody needs help skinning a deer, then of course we want them to get solid, correct information from our members, and sometimes this involves photos. This is fine. BUT if the picture is in any way bloody or potentially offensive, please post a warning in the thread title, along with in the thread itself, and provide a URL link instead of the photo itself. We understand that with nature comes some unpleasant things, but not everybody wants to see these things.
That said - remember our content rules. - Please do not quote images in your replies. Be sure to edit out any tag inserts in a reply to help save on load time.
- All videos from sites that allow comments, like YouTube, are required to be embedded into the post and you must follow these rules:
- Watch the entire video yourself and make sure it does not break any of our forum rules (i.e. no inappropriate words, no excessive violence, etc.). Members will be warned for failing to do this.
- Do not post the URL link or how to find the video on YouTube. Links will be removed. Embedding a video is easier than telling someone how to find it!
- Videos should only be posted in threads they are related to. Please do not create a video thread that is only for posting random YouTube videos.
- YouTube videos are not allowed to be in your signature or profile.
